5 Ways to Get Clients After 5PM

One of the biggest complaints I get from coaches hat I work with is “I can’t build my business while I work a full-time job.” Trust me, I used to have the same complaint until I realized the benefits of having a job while building a business. This freed up my brain to be creative about ways to market myself and my services… after work hours. Here are 5 ways you can build your business after work, provided you’ve cleaned up your thinking about it first so you’re not so tired all you do is sit on the couch and watch TV after work because your job is so exhausting 🙂

1. Facebook groups

I love Facebook groups because they allow you to connect with people from around the globe. You also get to be helpful and showcase your skills, your personality and what you believe in. When you choose 2-3 groups to actively participate in, people will naturally want to know more about you and what you do.

2. Ads

Typically, I don’t talk about things I don’t or haven’t done, but I have several friends making a name for themselves through the use of Facebook ads. You can set them and forget them, allowing the ads to run, when you are asleep or while you are at work. With Linked in and Instagram jumping on the bandwagon, you can be sure to find your target audience.

3. Social Media

Since social media never sleeps, any platform you choose that has your target audience and have at it! Each one has best practices ways to optimize your time, but one thing I will say is to limit it to 1 or 2, figure out how to schedule the posts and try batching the posts, so you are not scrambling after work to figure out what to write.

4. Networking

Networking gets a bad wrap, but I think it is because many people just aren’t doing it right. When you are at a networking function, be curious about the people around you, start building relationships and people will become a natural sales force for you.

5. Content Marketing

This includes blogging, vlogging, podcasting, scoping, any medium that allows you to share value information about your craft. Much like the social media posts, when you have limited time during the day because you work, one of the best strategies is to batch your content (write or produce it at the same time) and schedule the broadcasting for a time that works for your schedule.

And there you have it. 5 ways to promote your business after 5pm. Are there any other ways you have used to promote your business while working a job?
